Tonja has been working with news media websites since 1998 and in social media and word-of-mouth campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and startups since 2005. She has executed social media strategies for companies in various industries as well as higher education, creating communities and brand awareness.
Tonja has spoken at conferences and seminars including IABC, PRSA and Type A Parent, as well as provided social media education and training to several companies and organizations in various industries.
She also developed and taught social media skills in Eastern Michigan University’s journalism program. Tonja also is a highly skilled writer and reporter and creates content for bylined articles, websites and marketing materials.
Personally, Tonja has been married for more than 12 years, has a son in middle school and a daughter in elementary school and recently moved from the Detroit metro area to San Jose, California. She loves to travel, has been to Disney more times than she can count on one hand and owns a pop-up camper. She’s into home improvement, can spot an online deal a mile away and attempts to turn her family on to green and organic products. She’s been on both sides of the review process – selecting and pitching bloggers at a PR agency, as well as reviewing products and travel locations.
She has been on several cruises, has traveled to more than a handful of countries and is always up for a good road trip.
